Our training courses and programmes

Stirling Cycle Training provide a range of training courses, whether you have never ridden before or are a regular road cyclist we aim to help you to improve your skills.

All our training meets the National Standards in cycle training level 1-3 programme.

Courses

 

Beginners

Who should attend? For non cyclists or those on stabilizers

What is included?

Bike safety checks
Equipment safety checks
Bike control skills (National Standards level 1)

What format is the training? 1:1 training with an instructor for 1 hour
What is the cost? £28 per person

 

 

On road cycling (beginners)

Who should attend? Suitable for those who can ride in control but have not done any previous on road cycle proficiency training.
What is included?

Bike safety checks
Equipment safety checks
Safe use of shared paths
How the Highway Code affects cycling
Delivery of cycle training (National Standards level 2)

What format is the training? The course is 8 hours long delivered in 4 sessions of 2 hours. We will run the course with 3-6 students.  Suggested age 7 years to adult.
What is the cost?

£45 each for children (16 and under).
£75 per adult.

If you book a course for 3-6 children you receive a free adult place on the course

 

 

 

On road cycling (advanced) - commuting bike skills

Who should attend?

For cyclists who currently ride on the road (for children this means they currently ride on the road unaccompanied by an adult or have achieved National Standards level 2 ).

Do you want to start commuting to work, college or school and haven't ridden in traffic for a while?  This is the course for you. 

The course is also suitable for those who wish to ride for work (eg riding between clients or different sites) and need evidence of competency to be covered by their employers liability insurance.

Delivery of cycle training (National Standards level 2&3)

What format is the training?

The course is 8 hours long delivered in 4 sessions of 2 hours. We will run the course with 3-6 students.

What is the cost?

 

£55 each for children (16 and under)
£75 per adult

If you book a course for 3-6 children you receive a free adult place on the course.

 

 

Individual tuition

1 to 1 training with an instructor for 2 hours, tailored to your needs is normally  £55 but we have an Autumn 2011 special offer thank to GCNS:-

 

Winter 2012 Special

FREE adult cycle commuter training.

Thanks to Going Carbon Neutral Stirling (GCNS) Cycle Stirling project Free one-to-one training is now available to boost your confidence and skills in traffic, in the dark and on your route to work. This training is offered FREE to the first 50 people aged 17 or over to contact GCNS.

If you are looking to cycle to work, but don't know how, or you are not confident on the road, this course will provide you with a welcome boost to your cycle confidence.
